However, you should be mentally prepared to take an aggressive approach toward training.

I think, that nobody can reach there menitioned aims without real religion.
I am finding this as a hoax agains Christianity misusing names both Dalai Lama and the theologist.

It doesn't say 'religion does not matter' it says 'your religion is not important' meaning, which particular religion you subsrcibe to doesn't matter, only that you grow as a loving person.

"Religion does not matter" - if Religion is no longer seen to be delivering the truth and cannot stand up to modern scientific and Historical scrutiny, this will be true and religion becomes completely irrelevant for mainstream society.
If you believe in an all powerful inclusive loving spiritual God that not only radiates unfathomable love to us all, but offers eternal life to those of their own free reciprocate this love - then surely it does?
If you understanmd that one of the driving forces of evolution is inventing ways to continue to survive following catastrophic threats or events - that this is the route taken to evolve intelligent free thinking individuals that can choose to love God. Then you will understand why God did not intervene in these terrible events.
Surely we live in a world of probability, very little is certain.
One of the dangers is the certainty of Truth! Unfortunately, History shows that those who think they have found it consider all other claims to truth to be wrong. Hence we have the atrocities of the Crusades, Inquisition, Catholic - v- Protestant clashes in Ireland, Catholic - muslim clashes in Bosnia, Muslim - v- Hindu clashes in India etc.
Consequently, some Atheists think Religion might be the root of evil! (Forgetting that the holcausts in the Russian and Chineese teritories was instigated by those with no Religion!
Perhaps we have an unfit for purpose exclusive set of Faiths - splintered into many exclusive denominations - all trying to prent a loving inclusive God!
Unfortunately, so many young folk today are no longer receiving meaningful guidance on life stiles - many are no longer setting stetching life goals, living for the moment and losing out on the satisfacion of providing a service to society.
Surely, we need an inclusive faith that is happy to debate in any forum - hopefully one that is fired up by the open love of God and is meaningful for today's world?
